Sri Lankan pacemaker Dushmantha Chameera has been banned from the Asian Cup 2022 tournament scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates on 27 September.
Dushmantha Chameera has lost the Asian Cup due to pre-existing injuries that have not healed.
Dusmantha, who suffered a peroneal muscle injury in his right leg during his training session on Friday, Chameera is his third known pacesetter to be left out of the Asian Cup.
Shaheen Shah Afridi injured his knee.
Sri Lanka had previously announced its massive 20-man squad for the tournament, with Dinesh Chandimal return ing to his 20-over format in Sri Lanka.
Chameera was one of the highlights of the tournament, taking 48 wickets in 50 T20Is, 44 in 42 ODIs and 32 in 12 Tests for the island nations.

Nuwan Thushara has been selected to replace Dushmantha Chameera in the Sri Lanka squad for the 2022 Asian Cup.

The 2022 Asian Cup, the 15th tournament, will start on August 27th and the final will be held on September 11th.
